The Fällkniven A1 is a robust, all-purpose survival / outdoor fixed-blade knife. It is built for heavy duty use yet still capable of finer cutting tasks. The blade is made of laminated VG7 steel (a layered construction with a hard core and more forgiving cladding) and features a convex edge (a rounded taper) that provides strength and good cutting performance. The knife features a full tang (the metal goes through the entire handle), with a protruding tang at the back end so it can be used as a striking surface if needed. The handle is made of Kraton (a robust synthetic rubber-like polymer) which stays grippy even in wet or cold conditions.
